Actually Jim acknowledges that despite his decades of experience Autism is a dynamic enquiry. An enquiry into what it means to be human. One that has moved from cures to accepting neurodivergent identities.

You know, he won’t go to school.
Does it mean he won’t leave the house?
Is it a question of he can’t? Not that you won’t.
Is it the travel? Is it the particular teacher? What is it? No one’s asked these questions “
